Our top tips for
living better in 2019

When our founder Alice Asquith founded Asquith back in 2002, one of her priorities was to ensure that all of our fabric was sourced ethically from the very best eco-resources that she could find. This was the first step in our journey of creating a brand that helps you to live better every day. We asked our customers over the past few months to share how they are living better in 2019. From conscious exercise to slow living, we hope they will inspire you to live a little better every day.

Daisy, Birmingham

‘Each morning I am starting my day with prana breathing. It’s so simple to do and really helps to settle my breath and my body for the mad morning rush.’

'The Long Harem bamboo yoga pants. They’re so soft and I wear them for everything, from the school run to walking the dog and back again.'

Sarah, Kent

‘This year I have decided to give up buying my toiletries in plastic bottles, instead, I have been using soap bars for all my needs and they work just as well .

'It has to be the Be Grace bamboo yoga top.'

Kate, Oxfordshire

‘ I have switched all my cleaning products to their more natural and better for the planet counterparts. If there’s something I can’t find in a more natural formula then I am looking to my mother for inspiration and using the traditional tools for cleaning, soap nuts, essential oils and bicarbonate of soda.'

'I live in the bamboo yoga pants the Divine Pants.'

Jennifer, Lemmington

‘2019 is all about buying better and buying less for me which is just one of the reasons I am so obsessed with Asquith’s ethical activewear. Not only is it ridiculously soft and comfy but I know it will last and when it does come time for me to get a new outfit I know I can recycle it without feeling guilty.’

'The Pure Cami bamboo yoga top. It’s so easy to wear under warm jumpers and stays fully in place during my practice.'

Alex, Bristol

‘‘I had an epiphany at the end of last year as I was getting my gel nail varnish removed. I looked down and saw all the little bits of plastic that had once been on my nails and realised if there is this much coming off my nails just IMAGINE how much is being thrown into the ocean on a daily basis. Gels are out and natural nails are in!’

'This season I love the Mellow Hoodie. I have yet to get my hands on it but I have been hinting about it to my husband for the last couple of weeks, so fingers crossed it will waiting for me on my birthday.'

Anna, London

‘‘It may be a simple one but if I am out and about and I have some rubbish with me I will wait and carry it with me for as far as it has to go until I find a recycling bin. I am also very conscious about taking the Evening Standard on the tube – just think of all the waste paper that is left at the end of the day.'

'I love all their ethical yoga clothes but especially the Blissfull Wrap.'

Rosie, London

‘It might not be the easiest for everyone but I am shopping local and seasonal as much as I possibly can. The thought of fruit and veg flying all over the world so I can eat it and probably not think about the mammoth journey it has been on seems a little excessive especially when British fruit and veg is so good! I am loving that rhubarb is on the way back in and spring veg is just around the corner.’/p>

'I have just discovered the bamboo yoga pants, the Hero Tie Pants and I practically haven’t taken them off since I bought them.'

Sandra, Bath

‘Taking time out for myself each day was my new year’s resolution and it has stuck! I have been practising yoga nearly every day using the online yoga website Movement For Modern Life, letting myself relax by having a bath and simply making sure I take my hour lunch break in the middle of the day!’

'The Spirit Yoga Top.'

Sally, Cirencester

‘‘With all the news on how much plastic and how many chemicals are going into our oceans killing all the fish, I have given up eating seafood and insisted my partner and I get a water filter to ensure what we are drinking out the tap is as a safe as it can possibly be.’

'The bamboo yoga pants the Flow With It Leggings – any colour, any pattern. I love them!'

Bella, Edinburgh

‘‘This year I have decided to explore more of the UK saving on airfares and most importantly on emissions. We have such a beautiful country and I think it’s so important to explore where you come from as there is simply so much to see.’

'I am a long time lover of the Conquer Cami.
