Make your own eco-friendly face mask
Here we show you how to make a face mask using an old pair of Asquith leggings.
Did you know it takes about 450 years for one single-use plastic/medical mask to biodegrade?
Masks are here to stay, so we asked Emma, our fabric specialist to show you how to make an eco-friendly, re-usable mask from an old pair of Asquith bamboo leggings. Not only is it better for the planet, but because all of our clothes are made from natural fibres it's better for your skin too - no nasty face mask rash here!
All you need is a pair of scissors, a steady hand and some time to get crafty. Simply follow the steps below.
Instructions
- Download the simple pattern below and print on A4 paper without adjusting scale. Check the test print box is 5 cm square.
- Cut out the pattern.
- Fold leg of the garment up, placing the pattern on a folded edge. Pin pattern through all layers.
- Cut out mask.
- Cut out ear holes.
- To wear twist ear holes up and hook over ears. This gives a secure fit..
We would love to see your mask creations. Share them with us over on @asquithlondon or let us know how you get on in the comments below.
Stay safe!!
Love from Team Asquith
