TINCTURE was started out of a pure passion. As my children were growing up my eldest son suffered with severe and my eldest daughter developed dermatological problems. I grew increasingly concerned about the toxins and pollutants my children were being exposed to, both inside and outside our home. I started looking more closely at the products that were being used on a daily basis and I came across a shocking body of research that revealed the air inside a typical home is up to five time more polluted than the air outside. The more I read, the more I began to realise just how enormous the impact of household chemicals have on our health and wellbeing and as a mother to four children, I wanted more than anything to protect my children in their own home; this is where my TINCTURE journey began.
Inspired by ancient monastic wisdom, we have taken time to carefully develop formulations that not only clean effectively through the use of 100% natural botanical extracts and antimicrobial silver, but furthermore improve wellbeing through the inclusion of high-quality, pure essential oils and their therapeutic properties. We pride ourselves on making super soft ethical yoga clothes, if your brand had to be remembered for one thing, what would it be and why?
If TINCTURE had to be remembered for one thing, I would like it to be for highlighting the damaging effects chemically based cleaning and household products have on our indoor air – we spend over 90% of our time indoors - and thus on our health and wellbeing, as well as providing a sustainable solution to help ensure we all live in clean, healthy homes.
We are constantly improving upon how we operate to ensure we grow in a sustainable way and making sure everything we do focuses on how it benefits our customers as well as our planet. If you could share one tip for someone who wants to live more ethically and sustainably in 2019 what would it be and why?
Wanting to live more sustainably and ethically can feel a bit daunting. The best advice I have received is to make small, achievable changes that can be maintained and gradually build up. In my quest to live more sustainably I started with our grocery shop by buying local, seasonal produce with no plastic wrap. I have recently installed a water filter to our kitchen tap to save on plastic and glass water bottles. It is amazing to think how these simple changes can all add up.
My favourite product at the moment is our daily floor cleaner. Living in a busy house full of children and with two dogs and more recently a new puppy(!) I have found the daily floor TINCTURE to be a life saver! Instead of having to dig out the mop and bucket and then fill with water and product, I simply spray and wipe! It is also great for small bathrooms and ‘quick fixes’ such as kitchen spills and muddy footprints in the hall. I couldn’t be without it!And finally, is there anything you would like to share with our readers?
