Asquith Adores Nominee - OddBox

Find out more about OddBox, the brand that brings sustainable veg straight to your door and nominee in the Asquith Adores Awards...

Can you tell us how/why you started your brand?

ODDBOX was founded by Emilie & Deepak (a couple from India/France) 3 years ago - when they learnt about the sheer amount of fruit and veg that go to waste every year in the UK.

They went on a mission to structurally reduce food surplus and its negative impact on our environment and started packing and delivering boxes themselves on weekends (as they both had day jobs) to people in their area. Today - less than 3 years later -we deliver more than 20,000 boxes a month to mindful people across London.

We pride ourselves on making super soft ethical yoga clothes, if your brand had to be remembered for one thing, what would it be and why?

Saving the planet by rescuing delicious fruit & veg that would otherwise go to waste.

How do you ensure you stay on top of ethical/eco trends and ensure your brand is moving in the right direction as it constantly evolves?

Being engaged with the industry is truly important yet remaining grounded to the pivotal reason why we exist is key for ODDBOX. We exist to eliminate food waste at farm level.

If you could share one tip for someone who wants to live more ethically and sustainably in 2019 what would it be and why?

Consistency over perfection! Small consistent actions do trickle down to big impact.

And finally, is there anything you would like to share with our readers?

Goes back to our tip – in times where the conversation around environmental issues can seem scary and overwhelming, do not let eco-anxiety stop you from taking action. Again, small, consistent steps will lead to a much, much better future.
