What was the inspiration behind starting your blog?

After I left a 20+ year career in banking when I had my son, I started ghost-writing online fashion articles for a few retailers.  I didn’t like having to having to discuss anyone else’s rules on style, so it pushed me to start my own blog where I could be as colourful and sparkly and opinionated as I liked!

What sparked your interest in fashion and styling?

I have two EXTREMELY stylish grandmothers; they both trained my eye and sharpened my opinions from an early age.  One was crazy about sequins and colour, and the other was focused on tailoring and quality.  I’m obsessed with all four things now!

What is your go-to top styling tip?

Wear colour; it improves everything.  There’s a reason superheroes never wear neutrals!

Tell us one thing that our blog readers may not know about you…

I almost became a game ranger in Africa.

And finally, is there anything you would like to share with our readers?

Don’t buy fast fashion.  It is a waste of money that should be spent on quality items, it robs original ideas from real fashion designers, it is terrible for the planet, and while you may be getting a good ‘deal’ someone somewhere else is paying the price for you.  Be a conscious consumer.
