What was the inspiration behind starting your blog, and has your direction changed since you began blogging?

I started blogging in 2009 about wellness trends and how to lead a healthy life. In 2013 I added travel to the mix and merged Wood (the healthy stuff) and Luxe (the luxury travel). I’ve since become a Yoga teacher and also a Business coach so these two elements have been integrated to the blog. I’m sure blog will continue to grow and change as my life does.

When did you first get into yoga /pilates, and what was your motivation?

My mum took me to my first class 18 years ago as something we could do together. Since then, yoga has been a big part of my life. I’ve practiced in over 50 countries in multiple languages and I can’t live without it.

What do you think are the biggest benefits of yoga / pilates?

For me, the biggest benefit is really connecting with myself. Giving myself 60 minutes of just listening to my breath and my body is magical. There’s not many other activities where I get to tune into my body and mind.

What are your top tips for keeping motivated with a regular fitness routine?

Lock in your workouts at the start of the week and try to start each day with moving your body – even if it’s for 10 minutes.

Which bloggers are you rooting for in the other Asquith Adores Blogger Awards categories? I’m a big fan of Naturally Sassy and Going Zero Waste.

Tell us one thing that our blog readers may not know about you…
I use to want to be Japanese spy – true story! I studied Japanese for 10+ years and can read, write and speak the language. Not as fluent as I once was.

We regularly feature inspiring women on our blog in our ‘Wow Women’ series, who is your most inspiring ‘Wow Woman’ and why? Right now, Lisa Messenger of The Collective Magazine is one inspiring woman I look up to. Her magazine is a waterfall of inspiration and all of her books are nuggets of gold!

What was the last book you read?
The last book I read was Money & Mindfulness by Lisa Messenger. It really taught me to look at money differently and help to change my mindset about money.

What is your favourite uplifting quote of all time?

If you follow me on instagram, you will know I’m a big fan of quotes so it’s hard to just pick one. One quote I am loving at the moment is one by Howard Thurman:

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

And finally, is there anything you would like to say to our readers?

I’m teaching yoga on retreat in India next October. It’s an Ayurveda and Yoga retreat based in Kerrala India and it’s going to be magical!
